State Level Response Resources

States, along with local and county government agencies, are on the front lines of any disaster response. States are resources for local and county government agencies who are the “first responders” to any disaster. State EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement agencies work with and support local responders.

On the following pages there are links and information on the state level response resources for all 50 states.

Emergency Medical Services. EMS is a first responder to any emergency or disaster. EMS agencies nationwide are usually regulated by a state agency. Those state agencies help to support EMS in a disaster situation, and are a source of resources for the public as well. To view the information on EMS, you can click on the link above, or you can follow the State navigation button in the left margin.

The Fire Service. Fire Service agencies are first responders to any emergency or disaster. Fire departments around the country provide many services besides fire suppression. To view the information on the Fire Service, you can click on the link above, or you can follow the State navigation button in the left margin.

Law Enforcement. Law enforcement agencies are first responders to any emergency and disasters. To view information on law enforcement, you can click on the link above, or you can follow the State navigation button in the left margin.
